For Artists
Artists in the Greater Flint, Michigan area are invited to become part of VSA arts of Michigan-Genesee County's (VSAMI-GC) programs. Artist services are requested,
as funds are available, in the following areas:
- Artist Residencies: During a residency, artists visit a classroom or group of participants for a minimum of 5 hours over a several week period. ArtsJAM! Flint provides residencies throughout the school year.
- Arts Festivals and Workshops: VSAMI-GC holds five festivals annually. During festivals, artists spend one day working with large numbers of participants to create visual art, provide short sessions in music, story telling, creative movement or dance.
- Professional Development: Artists may be selected to provide a short workshop for teachers that will help them work in the arts with classroom students.
- Professional Development and Networking with other Artists: VSAMI-GC occasionally provides opportunities for artists to meet one another, network and learn about the newest information from VSA International. It's a great way to showcase your abilities and to meet other artists who enjoy helping us promote the creative power in people with disabilities.
