This Saturday, August 4, VSAMI-GC will open for the 2011 Flint Jazz Festival,
at noon with performances by local jazz artist Pat Cronley and several young VSA musicians at Flint's Riverbank Park. Headliners include former VSAMI Young Soloists Margie Mascow and Ebony Grundy, who both sing and play keyboard. They will also be accompanied by saxophonist Sabrina LaMarr and Baba Kevin Collins, who will provide interactive experiences with African drumming. Apprentice performers from GISD Project CHOICE classrooms in Clio will round out the show. Admission is free to this performance, but donations are appreciated.
